I've just come across a new photographer that I thought I'd share.  I particularly loved the 'new gypsies' series- very much reminded me of Diane Arbus and a bit of Richard Avedon.

Very enchanting, surreal, smoky and otherworldly.

Fans On the Field 2010

Recently I've had the opportunity to photograph an event, Fans on the Field, with the company, Running Guru.  Fans on the Field is a walk/run through Denver's Invesco stadium and surrounding area, benefiting the National Sports Center for the Disabled.  I had a great time being a part of this experience!  Even though I couldn't stay after the run and enjoy the music and food set up outside of Invesco where the run started and ended, I definitely had a good time.  I think my favorite part of the whole run/walk was the Rookie Race where the young kids had a chance to let loose and race around the stadium.  Those kids had boundless amounts of energy!

Denver's 1st Pancakes & Booze Art Show -2010-

This past Friday I got to participate in Denver's 1st Pancakes and Booze Art Show! I saw some really great works of art, plus got to experience Denver's underground art scene. Definitely fun and can't wait for the next show in Denver. ...And I can't forget to mention the pancakes! Fresh fruit baked into the pancake itself, smothered in your choice of chocolate or maple syrup! Definitely great. Just get yourself a pancake, sit in one of the eccentric chairs with shoe-wearing feet, and listen to the sounds of the flute the DJ is playing as you're taking in all the cool artwork.

Portland rocks socks! -2009-

these photos are from a trip i took last year to portland, or. i only spent a few days there, but the beauty of the place was breathtaking. of course, i also went in june when the weather is usually at its most behaved. the roses at the international rose test garden were in full bloom, and the skies were a bright, clear blue... though there was the one day it rained in the typical winter weather portland is known for. the walking tours are great to do and really help an out-of-towner gain their bearings for around the town plus the history of the city is so fascinating! the street kids running around were.. interesting [?] to watch, even if they are lil trust fund babies with nice families somewhere, and i'm pretty sure i either saw a dead homeless man as i was riding the RTD or it was a man who likes to celebrate the middle of the workweek a bit too much. another homeless was trying to wake him or steal his bottle...

BUT, overall, it was a nice vacation with lots of new sights and experiences. -i never got to see the ocean. -

the lack of noise and motion was VERY apparent coming back home to colorado. it took a few days to adjust.
